Welcome to Giovanni Rana, Italy’s Number One Fresh Pasta Brand, Sponsor of La Dolce Vita!

In 1961, when he was just in his early 20s, Giovanni Rana decided to start his own business making fresh filled pasta – and delivering this to local households on his motorcycle. Being one of the first to offer this service he spotted an opportunity, as most people were still spending time making their own pasta by hand at home.

To make mammas’ lives a little easier and ensure their families still enjoyed the quality, fresh pasta they loved Giovanni Rana filled every shell with his strong family traditions and authentic Italian ingredients.  Today, Giovanni Rana is still very much a family business and Giovanni Rana fresh filled pasta is made in Italy following traditional Italian recipes. It’s rolled very thinly so it contains a more generous filling giving more delicious flavours.

Giovanni Rana Prosciutto Crudo & Cheese Cappelletti with figs, ricotta cheese & rocket

Serves 2

1 pack of Giovanni Rana Rich Prosciutto Crudo & Cheese Cappelletti

4 figs, stalks removed and cut in quarters
1 small bag of wild rocket
60g of ricotta cheese
Olive oil
 
Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a frying pan, when it is hot add the figs in one layer. Cook them each side until they begin to caramelise.
Meanwhile, in a large pan, bring to the boil plenty of salted water. When the water is boiling, add the Giovanni Rana Cappelletti to the pan and cook for one minute. Drain and stir into the figs, ricotta cheese and the wild rocket. Season with black pepper and serve immediately.
